Fechner MD Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, high-quality surgical environment.
Our accredited, office-based operating room specializes exclusively in cosmetic plastic surgery. We are looking for a team member who takes pride in precision, professionalism, and providing an outstanding surgical experience for every patient.
Responsibilities
The Operating Room RN/CST is an integral member of the surgical team, assisting the surgeon throughout cosmetic surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting efficient operating room workflow.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team where quality, attention to detail, and patient experience are the highest priorities.
  • Prepare the operating room for scheduled surgical procedures.
  • Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgery.
  • Scrub and assist the surgeon during cosmetic surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments and supplies.
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts according to policy.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with patient positioning while maintaining safety and dignity.
  • Support anesthesia and circulating staff as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain operating room sterility and infection prevention standards.
  • Turn over operating rooms efficiently between cases.
  • Assist with sterilization and instrument processing.
  • Maintain accurate surgical documentation as appropriate.
  • Participate in inventory management and supply organization.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure an exceptional patient experience from arrival through recovery.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain accreditation standards

Qualifications
Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • Previous operating room experience required.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical asepsis.
  • Experience scrubbing surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • BLS/ ACLS Certification
Preferred
  • Plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery experience.
  • Ambulatory surgery center or office-based surgery experience.

The salary for this role will range from USD $48.00 to 65.14 per hour based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to years of experience, location, relevant skills, training, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
