This is a 13-week contract position with a Day 3x12-Hour schedule from 07:00 to 19:00.
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med-Surg/Surgical Orthopedics team. The unit caters to various surgical patients, including those undergoing orthopedic procedures, general surgery, and more. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care for a mix of medical and surgical patients admitted directly from the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide nursing care for surgical and medical patients.
  • Administer medications and manage IV therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, radiology, and pharmacy.
  • Monitor vital signs and record patient progress in the Cerner documentation system.
  • Float between units as necessary based on patient care needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med-Surg or surgical unit.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Valid Maryland or Compact RN license must be active at the time of submission.
  • Previous charge experience preferred.
