Job description

Medical Writer Position

Following our successful expansion into the U.S. and continued growth across Europe, we are seeking a Medical Writer to help drive our Scientific function from our Austin or Barcelona hubs.

Reporting directly to our Chief Scientific Officer, this person will play a critical role as the medical voice behind Aika, ensuring that what we build, publish, and communicate is grounded in sound medical science, clinical best practice, and patient-centric thinking. The focus is on hands-on scientific writing, publications, and content.

Who We're Looking For:

A scientifically trained professional with strong writing instincts and a track record in clinical development, medical affairs, medical writing, or scientific communications. We're looking for someone who can hold the medical pen on high-stakes documents and, at the more senior end, represent Biorce credibly with KOLs, sponsors, and regulators.

This person should be able to combine sharp scientific judgment with clear, compelling writing: producing everything from peer-reviewed publications to medical input on product workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality scientific outputs: peer-reviewed publications, white papers, value dossiers, conference materials, and other written deliverables that strengthen Aika's credibility.
  • Contribute to medical and scientific input on Aika's core clinical functionalities, including protocol design support, eligibility logic, and endpoint frameworks.
  • Partner with Product and Commercial teams to ensure AI models and workflows reflect current standards of care, clinical guidelines, and regulatory considerations.
  • Translate complex clinical and scientific concepts into clear, accurate, and engaging content for different audiences (sponsors, KOLs, internal teams, external publications).
  • Act as a scientific voice for Biorce externally: supporting advisory boards, scientific conferences, and strategic partner discussions.
  • Shape the medical and therapeutic direction of the platform, prioritizing work that addresses real-world challenges in drug and device development.

Requirements

Must-haves

  • Advanced scientific or clinical background: life sciences, pharmacy, medicine, or related (a medical degree, PharmD, or clinical PhD is required).
  • Experience in clinical development, medical affairs, medical writing, scientific communications, or a related function in pharma or biotech.
  • Solid understanding of clinical trial methodology, endpoint selection, and benefit-risk assessment.
  • Excellent scientific writing skills with a portfolio of published or client-facing work.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and high integrity.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working with or overseeing digital health and AI-driven platforms.
  • Exposure to multiple therapeutic areas or indications.
  • Experience presenting at scientific conferences or sitting on advisory boards.
  • Hands-on experience with protocols, eligibility criteria, endpoints, or regulatory documents.

Why Join Us?

  • A dynamic work environment with an international team, where collaboration and diversity thrive.
  • Work alongside top talent, united by a shared purpose and committed to making a real impact.
  • Comprehensive private health coverage to ensure your physical and mental well-being.
  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility to balance your professional and personal life.
  • Company events to celebrate achievements and enjoy time together.
  • Get equipped with a MacBook to enhance your productivity and work experience.
  • Our office is pet-friendly! You'll likely be greeted by a few wagging tails upon arrival.
