SUMMARY
As the Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for patient care, transcribing dictation, documentation in patient records, phlebotomy, lab work, arranging medical services outside SMR, assisting the Medical Director, and performing other duties as assigned. This position is Monday-Friday.
The most essential tasks for which you will be responsible include:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities required in this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ACCESS TO PROTECTED HEALTH CARE INFORMATION
Will have access to patient records.
REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as laws, regulations and patient files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before patients, families, staff and management.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to develop effective working relationships with patients, staff and the recovery community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of Sundown M Ranch requirements and the policies established by the Board of Directors.
