Licensed Veterinary Technician โ€“ Internal Medicine

Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists

Full-time: Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm, with the possibility of staying later based on hospital needs.ย 

About You

Youโ€™re a licensed veterinary technician who thrives in a fast-paced Internal Medicine environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, youโ€™ll support complex cases through hands-on nursing care, diagnostics, anesthesia support, patient monitoring, and outpatient treatments while working closely with veterinarians and the broader hospital team.

You communicate clearly with pet parents, stay calm under pressure, and bring strong attention to detail to every case. Your success in supporting Internal Medicine patients through each stage of care matters to youโ€”and your growth and success matter to us.

Role Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Provide quality pet and client care in an Internal Medicine setting
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet parents
  • Assist with anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery
  • Perform venipuncture and support outpatient treatments
  • Apply medical math accurately in daily patient care
  • Use working knowledge of anesthetics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory techniques, and general patient care
  • Remain calm and effective during stressful situations

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Has knowledge of basic veterinary practices
  • Experience in specialty veterinary medicine-preferably Internal Medicine
  • Able to appropriately handle animals
  • Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
  • Recent experience in a veterinary practice
  • Willing to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

ย Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practiceย 
  • Ability to perform routine veterinary medical proceduresย 
  • Patient care experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Veterinary Technician license is required
