Job description

Job Title: Waiting List Specialist
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $21.64
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm CST (40 hours/wk)
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare written communication.
  • Operate as a point of contact for property owners, applicants, and waiting list inquiries.
  • Communicate program rules and regulations to outside parties as permitted by the Freedom of Information Act.
  • Assist with the writing of policies and procedures.
  • Initiate/Coordinate update and purge of all waiting lists.
  • Maintain all waiting lists.
  • Perform applicant updates and enter new waiting list applications in the system.
  • Create and maintain current and new PBV waiting lists when required.
  • Coordinate SharePoint activities and staff access with IT and Management.
  • Review all current and new HUD notices and Federal Register and advise accordingly regarding impact to program operations.
  • Prepare monthly/weekly reports.
  • All additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Housing Choice Voucher Program requirements, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare written materials.
  • Demonstrate the necessary skills in Microsoft Word or other desktop publishing applications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to explain program requirements to diverse populations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain information on ongoing functions and report to supervisor on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally, individually and in groups, with internal contacts, and property owners.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively write letters, maintain documentation, and complete required forms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manipulate necessary office equipment, computers, and peripherals.
