Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift
Fort Loudoun Overview:
Fort Loudoun Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is an 87,000-square-foot hospital serving Loudon County and surrounding communities. Based in Lenoir City, TN, with more than 200 physicians across 29 specialties, the facility offers advanced technology including MRI, CT, ultrasound, diagnostic X-rays, women's imaging, and nuclear medicine unique to the region. Featuring private patient rooms and comprehensive services such as emergency care, surgery, and specialized treatments, our dedicated team of physicians, staff, and volunteers is committed to providing excellent care to every patient, every time.
Position Summary:
The MLT performs routine and specialized clinical lab tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians.
Responsibilities
  • Performs all routine and specialized lab tests trained for as assigned.
  • Runs, maintains and or repairs laboratory equipment.
  • Performs and documents quality control samples in assigned work area.
  • Cleans and sterilizes laboratory equipment, glassware and instruments.
  • Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains according to standard formulas and procedures.
  • Answers phones, responds to physician inquiries regarding lab results.
  • Maintains required records, reports, statistics, logs, files to comply with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Performs all functions of a Sr. lab assistant as required.
  • Receives or collects specimens; organizes and prioritizes work duties. Identifies and labels specimens.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include therapeutic and diagnostic testing according to the age-specific needs of the population served (from newborn to geriatric).
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Licensure Requirement:
Must have and maintain Tennessee State medical lab technician licensures.
