In support of SUNY Orange's workforce development strategy, SUNY Orange Plus will support the creation of opportunities focused on providing high-impact solutions to local employers including strengthening their employee's skills and competencies through customized workforce development training and services.
We are currently seeking a qualified Non Credit Medical Billing & Coding Instructor for the upcoming Summer 2026 semester.
Requirements:
Education Required: Certified Medical Biller & Coder.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant billing and coding experience.
  • Knowledge of Registration, Pre-certification, Insurance Verification, Inpatient, Outpatient & Physician Services and legal aspect.
  • Understanding of billing requirements of third party carriers such as Medicare, Medicaid, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Commercial, Worker's Compensation and No Fault (Outpatient/Physicians Services).
  • Understanding of CPT Coding system and HSPCS Level Coding.
  • Knowledge of how to complete CMS 1500 form and UB04 Form.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) teaching certification.
