We are seeking a skilled and passionate Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our medical imaging team!


Position Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform CT simulations for Radiation Oncology patients and provide diagnostic CT imaging as scheduled. The goal is to deliver compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, diagnostic testing, or recently diagnosed with cancer. This role involves direct interaction with patients, their families, physicians, vendors, and business partners.


The CT Technologist must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently and are expected to demonstrate professionalism in all communications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all CT examinations and procedures independently or as part of a team under the general supervision of the department manager.
  • Conduct tumor localization simulations with radiation therapists as ordered by the radiation oncologist.
  • Prepare exam rooms and CT equipment following infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols.
  • Position patients using appropriate tools, devices, and ergonomically correct techniques to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Monitor patients during CT examinations, recognizing and reporting any unusual reactions or complications.
  • Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate contraindications, patient preparation, and tolerance for examinations.
  • Apply professional judgment and critical thinking to safely perform all diagnostic CT procedures.
  • Ensure imaging captures the required anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions with accuracy.
  • Identify and document any limitations of the CT examination and review images for quality and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and regularly review charts for accuracy.
  • Perform equipment quality assurance checks and daily patient care quality assurance per accreditation standards.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
  • Adhere to radiation safety regulations and report any discrepancies.
  • Maintain proficiency in technical skills and industry best practices.
  • Secure and maintain necessary supplies for the CT examination area.
  • Deliver patient-centered care that respects age and diversity-specific needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating strong listening and communication skills.
  • Maintain knowledge of coding, billing, and reimbursement processes.
  • Keep the work environment clean, safe, and organized.
  • Maintain active licensure and certifications required for radiology equipment operation.
  • Assist with general office support when not performing CT procedures.
  • Support cancer center marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate proactively with teammates to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • BLS certification required
  • Completion of approved Radiology Program
  • Certified CT Technologist
  • 1 year of experience preferred
  • Registered or eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T)
