Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a team focused on the development, testing, and regulatory compliance of innovative medical devices. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring products meet global safety and performance standards while helping bring life-changing technologies to market.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering, product development, quality, and regulatory compliance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development activities, electrical safety testing, risk management efforts, and regulatory initiatives, including compliance with EU MDR and IEC 60601 standards.


What You'll Do

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Design, evaluate, and support electrical systems used in medical devices.
  • Plan, execute, and document electrical safety testing in accordance with IEC 60601 standards.
  • Support compliance efforts related to EU Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR 2017/745).
  • Develop technical documentation required for product development and regulatory submissions.
  • Partner with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and R&D teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support risk management activities in accordance with ISO 14971 methodologies.
  • Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and product investigations.
  • Work with third-party testing laboratories and certification organizations during compliance testing.
  • Analyze product issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist with audit readiness and regulatory inspections.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting medical device development or work within a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical design principles and product development processes.
  • Experience supporting or executing testing to IEC 60601 standards.
  • Knowledge of EU MDR requirements and medical device compliance activities.
  • Experience with electrical safety testing equipment and laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with design controls, engineering documentation, and quality systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with any of the following will stand out:

  • IEC 60601-1-2 EMC testing experience.
  • CE Marking support for medical devices.
  • Knowledge of FDA medical device regulations.
  • Experience with ISO 13485 quality systems.
  • Experience facilitating risk management activities under ISO 14971.
  • Verification and validation testing experience.
  • Embedded systems, power electronics, or medical device software integration experience.
  • Direct interaction with Notified Bodies or third-party compliance laboratories.
