Full-time

Job description

Business Development Researcher (BDR)
Engenious Design is a premier medical device design and engineering firm serving a broad range of clients from start-ups to top 100 Medical device companies. We are in search of a Business Development Researcher (BDR) to help us get the word out to our existing and potential clients.  We have an amazing team and provide tremendous value by helping R&D leaders create new products, quickly. As we continue to grow, we desire to scale our business development processes.
To do this, we are seeking a high-energy, research-driven team member to spearhead our outreach to the world’s top  medical device companies. This is not a “smile and dial” sales role, this is a strategic position for a professional who enjoys the challenge of market research and the thrill of engineering a strategy to reach our target audience of R&D leaders.
The ideal BDR candidate will be innately curious and ready to dive into the deep end of device design to learn how we can best position ourselves in a competitive marketplace.  They will be excited to make new connections and adept at telling the Engenious story to potential clients who are accomplished and sophisticated leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deep-Dive Market Research: Map out the Top 100 MedTech firms. Identify their internal R&D team structures, pain points, key decision-makers and decision influencers.
  • Strategic Outreach: Develop and execute multi-channel cadences (Email, LinkedIn, Phone) that break through the noise. You won't use generic scripts; you’ll use insights to start high-value conversations.
  • Manage a CRM Pipeline: Maintain a pristine CRM. You will be responsible for tracking the health of the top-of-funnel pipeline and reporting monthly on conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with Marketing: Partner with our Integrated Marketer to ensure our outbound efforts align with our content strategy (case studies, whitepapers and LinkedIn thought leadership).
  • Develop Engagement Strategy: Propose new ways to engage prospects, from targeted webinar invites to high-touch physical mailers for R&D executives.
  • Generate Connections: The BDR will engage with, qualify and develop new prospects with the goal of getting the Engenious leadership team in front of qualified opportunities.

Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-temporary position that works as part of a collaborative team. This position works from our Kansas City based design center during core business hours and is not available as a primarily-remote role. The application will require you to verify willingness to relocate to the Kansas City area (if you don’t already live in the KC metro).
We recognize that top talent comes from all over the world. Due to government-imposed costs and process complexity, Engenious Design is unable to offer visa sponsorship opportunities at this time. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related degree.
  • Experience in B2B professional services or technical consulting.
  • Excellent, demonstrated, communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience using some type of sales engagement platform such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of disciplines and personalities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with medical device development, life sciences or other highly regulated engineering industries.
  • Experience with market research and research processes.
  • Experience with outbound sales or lead generation.
  • Individuals with a high level of self-motivation, competitiveness and curiosity.
