Description
Are you a Class A CDL driver looking for more of a work/life balance? Are you tired of working weekends and want more home time? How would you like to work for a team that appreciates their employees? Then we may have the job for you. Bay Insulation of Louisiana is looking for a Class A CDL driver who will be responsible for delivery of insulation products and requires unloading and loading of product to the scheduled job sites in a timely manner. Some warehouse work is required, as needed. Customer service with customers is essential in this position when delivering material to job sites and customer offices. Safely driving within the DOT and Corporate Safety guidelines is required.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
  • Driving to deliver material and the loading and unloading of material within a pre-determined driving schedule.
  • Maintains truck, performs daily pre-trip inspections, and provides minor maintenance on truck, as needed. Reports any mechanical or maintenance related issues that need to be repaired to the Plant Manager.
  • As required, completes daily DOT logs according to the rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation. Pre-inspection forms are filled out daily.
  • Processes paperwork including, but not limited to tickets, bills of lading, fuel receipts, trip reports, etc., making sure the customer signs the receipt of material and collecting on COD charges when specified.
  • Reports back to Plant Manager any issues that were addressed at the job site for response back to the customer.
  • Logging pre and post trips with any activity while on/off duty on Electronic Device Fleet Tracking Program (ELD).

Additional Duties:
  • Assist with production in plant when needed.
  • Relocate trailers at plant when needed.
  • Read maps efficiently to determine quickest routes to job sites and other delivery locations.
  • Will be required to perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Two years of experience in driving a tractor trailer within the last five years is required.
  • Requires ability to work a flexible work schedule based on need and schedules.
  • Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
  • Require a CDL, Class A license which is determined by DOT regulations.
  • As a condition of continued employment, employees working in a position requiring driving as an essential function of the job, are required to maintain a valid license, and an acceptable driving record as per our insurance provider's requirements.
