Job description

Title:
Electrical Engineer

Program Summary
KBR is searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer to study, design, prepare specifications, and perform services related to electrical and electronic systems employed on aircraft and missile systems, subsystems, and components to include the associated support equipment, test stands, maintenance, repair, and diagnostic equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Tasks include study, design, specification, reverse engineering, and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power supplies, generators, motors, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, circuit card assemblies, specialized electromechanical devices, etc. Devises and suggests new approaches to problems encountered. Conducts work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice and complex features such as conflicting design requirements, reverse engineering, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Position requires the ability to develop test plans and procedures for data collection and analysis to certify designs and prototypes to applicable standards to include Military Specifications related to air worthiness qualification. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Must be capable of preparing subcontractor work requirements, as well as providing oversight of subcontractor performance and integrating work from multiple subcontractors.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Working in a team environment and possessing good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Compiling and preparing technical reports
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • 3-7 years of experience associated with relevant electrical engineering tasks

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Proficient understanding and working knowledge of LabView/LabWindows CVI, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, NI Circuit Design Pro, power simulation software, and programming languages
  • Experience and knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and supportability challenges due to aging and obsolete components.
  • Experience with electrical circuit board and component manufacturing and assembly
  • Expertise with electrical analysis and design tools
  • Practical experience with Aircraft electrical systems trouble shooting and maintenance systems

Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain
This position will require up to 10% travel.
