Job Summary
This position completes all laboratory phases for fabrication and/or repair of various dental laboratory products, including but not limited to dentures, partials, repairs/relines, crown and bridge work. Ensures highest quality, timely processing of all work orders, follows lab prescriptions, and customization of prostheses.

Responsibilities
1. Be a contributing member to the Prosthodontic team by promoting effective communication among all clinic disciplines and encouraging students to be better.
2. Works under minimal supervision.
3. Organizes his/her work such that the production value is of lesser cost than competing local laboratory's production costs
4. Must be proficient with computers. Windows experience preferred as data entry/administrative tasks may be assigned.
5. This position is primarily a clinical production position with mild educational requirements, with potential for needs in research. As such, this position may take on various "service" forms depending on needs of the Section of Prosthodontics as determined by the Section Head of Prosthodontics, these "service" forms include, but are not limited to:
6. Production Services: Denture (complete and partial) production as well as crown and bridge. The incumbent is expected to maintain production at the "high range". This includes same day relines, repairs, etc.
7. CAD/CAM design knowledge and digital workflow is required.
8. Educational Services: it is imperative that the fabrication of quality prosthetics in an academic institution include a minor amount of dialogue with the student/faculty fabricating a prosthetic with the incumbent.
9. Education in Quality Assurance (QA): The incumbent may be asked to assess the quality of student work.
10. Research Services: research is a primary mission of the university, and the incumbent's knowledge is unique and highly valuable. The incumbent has the status of an expert in prosthodontics, and therefore his or her knowledge and intuition when contributed to the general body of knowledge is of immense value to the University. As such, it is of value for the incumbent to be able to provide research services.
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Medical Device & Equipment Engineer, IV: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences
Experience with CAD/CAM dental design software and digital workflows preferred. Prior experience in an academic or multi-specialty clinical laboratory setting is a plus.
