Job description

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

  • Valid BLS Certificate issued by either:
  • American Heart Association (AHA), or
  • American Red Cross (ARC)

Medical Office Clerk - Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP)

Task:

  • Medical Office Clerk shall screen, record and redirect telephone calls each month. Messages shall be taken, and information relayed to the appropriate staff members within 15 minutes.
  • Medical Office Clerk shall schedule appointments and check-in patients each month. Upon check-in, the contractor shall gather/verify demographic information (name, address, home/work telephone numbers, sponsor SSN, patient SSN, date of birth and insurance information.)
  • Medical Office Clerk shall create new appointments for walk-in or same day appointments as requested.
  • Medical Office Clerk shall prepare intake packets and forms for each patient to include privacy act, confidentiality forms, intake questionnaire and any other MTF required form. The contractor will scan and upload these forms in MHS Genesis at the end of each clinic day.
  • Medical Office Clerk shall be responsible for organizing and maintaining availability of clinic forms required for all patient check-ins.
  • Medical Office Clerk shall receive and assist providers with maintaining confidentiality of faxes sent and received within the clinic.

Education:

Degree/Education:

  • Education: High School Degree General Educational Development (GED) equivalency and medical terminology.

Work Hours:

  • Monday-Friday between the hours of 0700-1700. Shifts will normally be scheduled for 8.5 hours to include an uncompensated 30-minute meal break. In no instance will the contract worker be required to provide services in excess of 40 hours per week.
