Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg for a 15-week day shift contract in Hawaii, requiring 2+ years of med/surg experience and an active HI RN license by the start of assignment.

Details
  • Medical/surgical unit caring for adult patients 18 and over
  • 50-bed medical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
  • May float to surgical peds or transitional care units
  • Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, and other standard med/surg equipment
  • Day shift schedule with 15-week contract length
  • Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
  • Various shift lengths and days required; schedule flexibility needed
  • No guarantee of hours or shift preference
Requirements
  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment (may apply upon acceptance of offer if not currently licensed)
  • Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide med/surg level nursing care to adult patients, including wound vac and chest tube management
  • Department-specific training and orientation included in the first week
  • Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start, with appointment scheduled onsite in Hilo
  • Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
  • No holiday RTO requests permitted
  • Professional nursing attire required with no specific scrub color restrictions
  • Closed-toe shoes required as part of dress code
