Qualifications

Qualifications - External

  • Current coding certification required (AHIMA or AAPC – CCS or CPC)

  • Associate degree preferred in healthcare, business, or related field

  • 2+ years of medical coding experience preferred

  • Experience with medical billing and reimbursement and healthcare or clinic environment preferred

  • Strong proficiency using EHR systems (HFH EHR preferred)

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills with ability to discuss patient financial responsibility

  • Proficient in Excel with strong math skills and ability to complete forms and calculations

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to policy changes

  • Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to meet annual competency requirements
