Location: Belden, MS | Schedule: Hours vary, must be flexible | Pay: $21-$29/hour (based on experience)

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the life safety industry to hire experienced Fire Alarm Technicians for commercial installation and service projects. We are seeking technicians with hands-on experience installing, testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in commercial environments.

If you have experience working with fire alarm panels, devices, system startup, inspections, and service work, we want to hear from you.

Phone interviews will be conducted with qualified candidates.

Role Summary

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will install, inspect, test, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial fire alarm systems. This is a field-based role supporting new installations, upgrades, inspections, and service projects while ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Install, wire, and test fire alarm systems and devices

  • Perform fire alarm inspections and preventative maintenance

  • Troubleshoot system faults, wiring issues, and device failures

  • Assist with system startup, testing, and commissioning

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and wiring diagrams

  • Complete service reports and inspection documentation

  • Communicate with customers and project teams as needed

  • Travel to project sites as required, including occasional out-of-town assignments (hotel provided and $45/day per diem)

  • Adapt to varying start times based on project schedules

  • Follow safety requirements, NFPA standards, and installation best practices

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience installing, servicing, or inspecting fire alarm systems

  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire alarm codes

  • Experience troubleshooting fire alarm panels and devices

  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET certification or willingness to obtain

  • Experience with multiple fire alarm manufacturers and control panels
