Position Summary:

MedLink Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) to join our Revenue Cycle team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures to support optimal reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately code all diagnoses and procedures for medical encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

  • Review clinical documentation to ensure coding reflects the level of service provided.

  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracy.

  • Conduct audits and assist with coding compliance reviews.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations.

  • Support the billing department in resolving coding-related denials and claim issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required
  • 12 months coding/chart review or related experience. Experience in podiatry or orthopedics (foot and ankle) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
