  • Remove and install new piping systems using cast iron, copper, stainless steel, and other approved materials in accordance with codes and project specifications.
  • Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, specifications, schematics, and project documents to ensure accurate layout and installation from rough-in through finishing.
  • Lead and supervise field project teams of approximately 2 to 10 workers, including apprentices and laborers, on commercial tenant improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and manage subtrades on-site to ensure work is sequenced efficiently and completed to quality and safety standards.
  • Act as a working lead on-site, balancing hands-on plumbing tasks with supervisory responsibilities for tenant improvement projects.
  • Supervise daily on-site activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct quality control inspections throughout the project lifecycle to verify workmanship, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers regarding project progress, site issues, schedule impacts, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on project status, productivity, and performance, including documentation required by project management software.
  • Ensure that all installed equipment and systems function correctly and meet design intent, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support and mentor apprentices by providing on-the-job training, feedback, and guidance to help develop their technical and safety skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area within occupied commercial environments to minimize disruption to tenants.
  • Comply with background checks and driving requirements associated with specific projects and company policies.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of plumbing experience in commercial, institutional, or high-rise environments.
  • Red Seal Plumber certification for permitting and sign-off responsibilities.
  • Strong, well-rounded plumbing experience across drainage, heating, rough-in, and finishing stages.
  • Demonstrated experience with commercial tenant improvement projects or similar commercial work.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • Proficiency in construction management and project-related software, including Procore, Bluebeam, and Primavera P6.

  • Ability to provide a clean driving record in line with company and project requirements.
  • Ability to pass criminal background checks when required by specific projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with project managers, subtrades, team members, and tenants.
  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic in commercial construction environments.
  • Ability to lead small to medium-sized crews effectively while remaining a hands-on contributor.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to all site safety regulations and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 1+ year of lead experience running commercial tenant improvement projects is an asset.
  • Gas ticket or equivalent gas-related certification is considered a strong advantage.
  • Additional years of commercial or high-rise plumbing experience beyond the minimum requirement.
  • Experience installing and working with cast iron, copper, and stainless steel piping systems.
  • background in commercial construction, including high-rise and institutional buildings.
  • Strong initiative and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems on-site.
  • Eagerness to learn and continuously improve technical and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated pride in workmanship and attention to detail in finishing and overall quality.
  • Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team and contribute positively to a strong culture.

Why Work Here?

You will join a close-knit team that values a work hard, play hard culture and actively rewards strong performance.
