Job location: Boydton, VA

Summary/Objective:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations on assigned mechanical sheet metal tasks. Provides guidance and direction to a HVAC sheet metal crew consisting of journeymen, mechanics, and apprentices/helpers working under him/her. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every project stage. Strong relationship building skills with crew, clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working foreman, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs the installation, modification, and repair of HVAC sheet metal and related systems, and equipment
  • Studies specifications, BIM Model, contract documents, and schedule to plan procedures for construction including staffing and scheduling for every phase of project
  • Assembles members of organization (supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other workers) throughout a project
  • Responsible for performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks
  • Directs and confers with work force and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays
  • Confers with supervisory, engineering personnel, inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
  • Attends, as needed, all job site and office meetings related to assigned tasks
  • This is skilled supervisory work in directing the installation, modification, and repair of HVAC Sheet Metal and related systems, and equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Required:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in HVAC sheet metal operations field; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experience
  • Prior experience as a HVAC Sheet Metal foreman
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and lead teams of 8 to 10 individuals, ensuring high productivity, team cohesion, and successful project outcomes
  • Extensive knowledge of all HVAC sheet metal systems installation
  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
  • Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:

Work Environment:

  • May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
  • May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
  • May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights

Physical Demands:

  • This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
  • While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Travel:

  • May require travel

Preferred:

  • CPR certified
  • OSHA 30 certified
  • Prior military experience
  • HS diploma or GED equivalent
