Job description

This position is Enterprise in scope and supports all hospitals in Mayo Clinic system. Travel is on an ad hoc basis, as required by project needs.

Responsible for system wide project planning, design, build, implementation, maintenance, and managing the day-to-day operation of the enterprise patient dining software  This role oversees the integration of the patient dining software with the medical record and other hospital systems to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy and increase operational efficiency. 
This role designs and implements data gathering processes and drives data-driven process improvement endeavors. The Patient Dining Software Systems Manager collaborates closely with the Patient Dining leadership team on new patient dining initiatives, and ensures system stays current with the system maintenance, enhancements and emerging trends in healthcare technology. Additionally, supports the development, coding, and maintenance of the patient dining software for therapeutic diets, textures, and allergies. .. In addition to system management, the Patient Dining Software Systems Manager leads changes to the food services and clinical practice workflows that impact the patient dining software. This includes developing and maintaining training documents and best practices for end users, with a focus on ensuring adoption, minimizing errors and maximizing efficiency.  . This role provides technical support for troubleshooting, operates as a system SME to assist with go live support and ensures system functionality is maintained with minimal disruption, even after hours. Required to be "on-call" to coordinate after work hour problems when necessary. This role also maintains policies and procedures related to patient dining software use and maintenance. 

The Patient Dining Software Systems Manager role includes project management - this position evaluates project scopes, develops timelines, sets milestones, and tracks progress to ensure projects that impact the patient dining software are completed on time and meet the necessary requirements. Collaboration is essential, and this role works closely with a variety of stakeholders, including Mayo IT, Food Services, Clinical Nutrition, Nursing, and EHR technical teams to align the system with clinical and operational goals. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in foods, nutrition, food service management, or dietetics, plus the successful completion of an AND-approved dietetic internship, an accredited coordinated undergraduate dietetics program, or a Masters degree in nutrition. 

  • Minimum of three years of Food Service Operations and clinical experience required. 

  • Five years of experience working in healthcare foodservice informatics system,. 

  • In depth knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance standards for food services. Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed/Certified Dietitian in state working.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and human relation skills to facilitate effective collaboration and ensure clear communication across teams.
