Foothill Dermatology Medical Center is in need of a Medical Biller, Full time position

MUST HAVE ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE


Reponsibilites include and not limited to:

  • Review patient accounts and billing information for accuracy before claim submission.
  • Prepare and submit electronic and paper medical claims to insurance companies and other third-party payers.
  • Verify that claims contain accurate patient demographics, insurance information, provider information, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, modifiers, units, and required documentation.
  • Identify and correct billing errors before claims are submitted.
  • Ensure claims are submitted within payer and timely-filing requirements.
  • Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding claims.
  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs), and payer correspondence.
  • Post insurance payments, adjustments, contractual allowances, and patient responsibility accurately.
  • Reconcile payments and identify discrepancies.
  • Process secondary and tertiary claims when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of billing activity and claim follow-up.
  • Identify the reason for denied, rejected, or underpaid claims.
  • Correct billing errors and resubmit claims when appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit reconsiderations, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up with insurance companies regarding unresolved claims.
  • Maintain documentation of appeals and payer communications.
  • Experience working with EOBs and ERAs.
  • Experience with electronic claims clearinghouses.
