Medical Assistant Instructor (Part-Time)

Location: San Antonio, TX | Campus: On-Site

Type: Part-Time (10 Hours Per Week) | Evening Shift

Compensation: $20.80 – $24.92 per hour

Position Summary

Shape the future of allied health in San Antonio! Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced, certified Medical Assistant Instructor to join our San Antonio campus faculty.

In this part-time evening role (10 hours per week), you will leverage your hands-on clinical and administrative experience to mentor aspiring Medical Assistants. You will deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction, guiding adult learners as they master vital signs, phlebotomy, ECGs, patient care, and clinical administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery & Student Mentorship:

  • Course Facilitation: Deliver engaging evening lectures and hands-on lab training in medical assisting skills, clinical procedures, and healthcare administrative methods.

  • Student Success: Maintain an 80%+ student success rate by providing targeted academic counseling, early intervention alerts, and scheduled student support hours.

  • Skills Evaluation: Grade student assignments, lab competencies, and exams within 72 hours, offering constructive feedback to drive professional growth.

Academic Administration & Compliance:

  • Record Keeping: Track daily attendance, report consecutive student absences, maintain accurate grade books, and log behavioral or academic incidents promptly.

  • Practical Learning: Organize hands-on enrichment activities, including guest speakers, clinic field trips, and community service initiatives.

  • Faculty Collaboration: Participate in campus faculty meetings, in-service workshops, professional development, and graduation ceremonies.

  • Safety Enforcment: Enforce campus safety guidelines, OSHA/HIPAA protocols, and professional workplace standards across all instruction.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (or equivalent recognized training).

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of full-time practical work experience as a Medical Assistant.

  • Required Certification: Active, unencumbered Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) national credential.
