Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability.
Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills..
To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies 
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by DHMF HR department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire


Preferred

  • 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant
  • 6 months experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Office Receptionist or an equivalent amount of experience in a high volume customer service role in another industry/environment working with referrals or scheduling surgeries
  • Experience in billing
  • Prior call centerexperience
