Their responsibilities often include verifying patients’ insurance coverage, processing claims, obtaining pre-authorizations, and ensuring accurate billing. This dual role requires strong time management and organizational skills, as they may need to verify insurance coverage, process claims, and communicate with insurance providers while also assisting patients with intake or basic clinical tasks. Balancing these responsibilities is achieved by prioritizing urgent patient needs and leveraging electronic health record systems to streamline insurance processes. Collaboration with billing specialists, nurses, and physicians is common to ensure seamless workflow and accurate patient billing.
