The salary starts at $20hr. Occasional travel to the Barrington, Hoffman Estates, and Arlington Heights practices.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, upkeeping of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.The Medical Assistant will assist the physician in office-based surgeries and must know sterile techniques, and how to assist during a medical procedure.The Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.The Medical Assistant must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.The Medical Assistant will also perform front desk duties such as answer phones, check patients in/out, scheduling appointments, and verifying patients' insurances.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS of the Medical AssistantHigh School diploma or GED equivalentWilling to travel to multiple office locations (Required)Experience with sterile techniques (Required)Minimum of one year of surgical clinical experience (Required)Current CPR Certification requiredBilingual- Spanish (preferred)Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT)EMR systems: 1 year (eCW Preferred)Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environmentOpen to feedback and desire to grow in their positionSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibility.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent CPR Certification.
