Job description

OnPoint Medical Group is searching for an outstanding Medical Assistant Supervisor to join our team at Lone Tree Pediatrics! Come join a great group of medical professionals as our network continues to grow!

OnPoint Medical Group is a physician-led network of skilled Primary and Urgent care providers who are committed to expanding access to quality healthcare in the most effective and affordable manner possible.

Our "Circle of Care" has one primary goal – to ensure the health and wellness of members and their families. We do this by providing access to a comprehensive menu of medical services from one unified physician group in their neighborhoods. With doctors, nurses, specialists, labs and medical records all interlinked and coordinated, patient care has never been in better hands.

About the Role:

The Medical Assistant Supervisor at Lone Tree Pediatrics plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of medical assistant activities within the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the medical assistant team, ensuring that patient care and administrative tasks are executed with accuracy and compassion. The supervisor will coordinate appointment scheduling, manage workflow, and serve as a liaison between medical assistants, healthcare providers, and patients to optimize service delivery. Additionally, this role involves training, mentoring, and evaluating staff to maintain high standards of clinical and administrative performance. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant Supervisor contributes to enhancing patient satisfaction and supporting the overall mission of the healthcare organization through effective team leadership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

The following statements are illustrative of the essential duties of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. We retain the right to modify or change the essential and additional functions of the job at any time.

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the medical assistant team to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
  • Manage medical appointment scheduling processes to optimize provider availability and patient access.
  • Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for medical assistants to promote professional development and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to address operational challenges and improve patient service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies within the medical assistant department.
  • Complete Medical Assisting duties when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Medical Assisting program or equivalent (LPN, RN, EMT)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in a family, internal medicine or pediatrics clinic.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in medical appointment scheduling systems and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
  • Associate degree or higher in Health Sciences or related field.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Familiarity with healthcare quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction metrics.
  • Advanced training or certification in healthcare management or leadership.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.

Skills:

The required skills of medical appointment scheduling and medical assistance are integral to the daily operations of this role, enabling the supervisor to effectively manage patient flow and clinical support activities. Proficiency in appointment scheduling ensures that patient visits are organized efficiently, reducing wait times and optimizing provider schedules. Medical assistance skills allow the supervisor to understand clinical workflows, support staff training, and maintain high standards of patient care. Preferred skills such as leadership and communication enhance the ability to mentor staff and collaborate across departments. Additionally, familiarity with healthcare regulations and quality improvement supports compliance and continuous enhancement of service delivery.
