As a cardiology medical assistant, your duties are to assist cardiologists, cardiology technicians, and other professionals perform invasive procedures that assess the health of a patient’s heart, blood vessels, arteries, and lungs. You also help set up a variety of imaging methods, such as electrocardiograms, that monitor and record heartbeats or other activity in the circulatory system. Your responsibilities include meeting with patients, preparing them for the exams and operations, and helping families understand and get through the procedures.
