Dental Assistant
 
 
Position Summary
The Dental Assistant plays a key role in providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a mission-driven, non-profit dental clinic. Working alongside multiple dentists and volunteers in a modern, state-of-the-art facility in Clearwater, this position supports high-quality dental care in a fast-paced environment while ensuring every patient feels welcomed, respected, and comfortable.
The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, adaptable, and passionate about serving diverse and underserved communities. Experience with advanced dental technology, including digital workflows, CEREC scanning and milling, and 3D printing, is highly valued as the clinic continues to expand its technology.
Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and prepare patients, ensuring they are comfortable throughout their visit.
  • Assist multiple dentists chairside using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms following OSHA and infection control standards.
  • Accurately document patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and clinical notes.
  • Take and process dental radiographs.
  • Assist with digital workflows, including CEREC intraoral scanning, milling procedures, and 3D printing when applicable.
  • Take impressions and assist with laboratory procedures.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain clean, organized operatories and laboratory areas.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care in a supportive, respectful manner.
  • Assist with charting, lab coordination, inventory management, and other daily clinical operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience required.
  • EFDA or RDA certification required.
  • Dental Radiology certification required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively with multiple providers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
  • Experience with digital dentistry, including CEREC scanning and milling, preferred.
  • Experience with or interest in 3D printing technology is a plus.
