Job description

Leading and innovative plaintiff’s trial law firm offering nationwide legal services is looking for an experienced senior partner level attorney to take charge of their Scottsdale, AZ office.  The ideal candidate will have personal injury litigation experience at both the state and federal level and a comprehensive understanding of product liability law, preferably in the areas of medical device and pharmaceutical.  The successful candidate will also have the desire to take on responsibility quickly, and grow as a leader in the role, have the capability of running a high volume docket of cases from start to trial, be willing to lead, mentor and train new lawyers at the firm and develop processes and systems with KPIs for the staff.  This is a full time position allowing for a hybrid work schedule and based at the firm’s Scottsdale, AZ office.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have 7+ years of personal injury litigation experience with a comprehensive understanding of product liability law, preferably in the areas of medical device and pharmaceutical at both the state and federal level
  • Must be licensed to practice law in AZ, with bar membership in good standing
  • Must have the ability to take cases from start to trial, including working up experts in Federal court cases.
  • Must have an understanding of all aspects of personal injury matters from intake to trial.
  • Must have the capability of running a volume docket of cases.
  • Must have experience working with mediators in high value cases.
  • Must have basic knowledge of ESI and working with opposing counsel to get documents produced.
  • Must have excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills. The right person for this job will Must be able to provide excellent, reliable, persuasive, work product with little to no editing and or supervision.
  • Must embrace the unpredictable nature of litigations and appreciate the time demands of an active litigation practice
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and projects at once, while working both independently and on a team.
  • Must have the desire to serve on leadership in MDLs.
  • Must have the desire to take on responsibility quickly and grow as a leader in this role.
  • Must be able to lead, mentor and train new lawyers at the firm as well as Arizona staff.
  • Must have the ability to develop processes and systems with KPIs for the staff.
  • Must have the ability to utilize technology and case management software and adhere to data integrity standards.
  • Must be able to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, staff, clients, opposing attorneys, and court personnel.
