Formulation Technician I - Sunnyvale, CA (Contract, 2nd Shift)
About the Role
Join the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) in Sunnyvale, CA, and contribute to the development of industry-leading chromatography solutions. As a Formulation Technician I, you'll play a hands-on role in synthesizing and testing ion exchange media, directly impacting the quality of our consumable products. This is an excellent opportunity to build your laboratory and production skills in a collaborative, safety-focused environment, with chances for overtime and career growth.
Responsibilities
- Synthesize, test, and document ion exchange media in a manufacturing laboratory setting
- Operate specialized instruments to conduct resin product testing and ensure products meet stringent customer requirements
- Accurately record data, maintain thorough documentation, and complete production work-orders per SOPs
- Adhere to strict corporate quality policies and Good Laboratory Practices to ensure product excellence
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace; actively engage in safety improvement initiatives
- Use standard hand tools and computer software for daily tasks
Required Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a lab, production, manufacturing, or operations environment
- Proficiency in Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practices
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively
- Comfortable using hand tools and standard PC software, including spreadsheets and databases
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and working with exposure to chemicals (PPE provided)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with chromatography software
- Chemistry background or coursework
