Mechanical Engineer - ACES

JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for preparing technical deliverables for all project phases following established engineering principles, procedures, and criteria in a single or multidiscipline environment. This position provides mechanical engineering expertise, develops design drawings, performs engineering calculations, and ensures deliverables conform to customer documents, field philosophy, and applicable code and industry standard requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

         Review design engineering drawings and ensure conformance to client documents, field philosophy, and applicable code and industry standard requirements, such as ASME, API, ANSI, DOT, and other related standards.

         Prepare system specifications, MTOs, and purchase requisitions.

         Ability to provide quality review on engineering calculations. Develop and write engineering scopes of work and project change requests.

         Prepare estimates for all project phases.

         Develop and review schedules for assigned projects.

         Apply standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

         Duties include gathering and recording information for writing specifications and preparing technical reports.

         Report project performance using earned value terms.

         Review vendor bids to ensure compliance with project design specifications.

         Coordinate and perform quality control of CAD work prepared by designers.

         Ability to prepare engineering packages from inception to as-builts.

         Evaluate field problems and provide solutions.

         Develop project completion documents.

         Senior engineers will perform duties as discipline leads and will supervise and mentor lower-level engineers.

         Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

         Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

         Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

         Have a Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical Engineering.

         Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.

         High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

         Possess a Valid State Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

         Professional Engineer License.

         Oil & Gas experience preferred

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

      Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

      Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
