Job Description

Summary/Objective
Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing and documenting FAIs, receiving, in-process and final inspection to ensure product conforms to all applicable requirements. On-Site Daily In Beverly, MA

 Essential Functions

  • Applies advanced knowledge of GD&T principles to ensure products meet requirements.
  • Resolve issues and answer questions from Operators as well as from Inspectors and Engineers.
  • Assist Quality Engineers to develop inspection work instructions and inspection plans.
  • Ensures that DRs are properly written and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Participate or lead special projects related to tooling fixtures and gages.
  • Identifies and drives cost reduction projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing principle.
  • Works closely with the team to determine efficiency gaps, and to implement improvements.
  • Provide inspection support to all departments in the organization, perform receiving, in process and final inspection of parts.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and inspection instructions to determine product conformance.
  • Self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through while maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate both verbally and written, in English, with coworkers at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of mechanical inspection and proficiency in the use of manual & visual inspection equipment: e.g., Calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators, etc.
  • Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office).
  • Understands production travelers and work instructions.
  • Strong desire to learn and to apply new skills.

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses shop floor tools and machinery.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, move about the shop floor, talk, hear, bend, and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to squat or kneel occasionally

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time hourly position and operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Pay Range: $24-$29/hour

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and mechanical inspection of precision parts.
  • 4 years of experience with inspection equipment and tools.
