Job Description
Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.
Basic Qualifications
2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Special Requirements:
Experience with carrier engineering technical authority and build authority documents. Understands and applies engineering procedures to manufacturing processes and production methods within a model based environment. Eagerness and willingness to learn, enjoys working on teams and the ability to embrace change and adapt quickly.
-Engineering experience within the carrier program is highly preferred.
-Experience as a mechanical engineer is preferred.
-Experience using Team Center, NGP, NX, and SAP is highly preferred, but not required.
