Job description

One Tech Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Designer for a position located in Wausau, Wisconsin. The Mechanical Designer will create detailed and assembly drawings of design components and assemblies using computer-aided design (CAD) software and standard drafting techniques.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have an Associate’s degree (two-year college or technical school).

Local candidates preferred. This is not a remote position.

Mechanical Designer Responsibilities:

  • Select and design parts to meet functional, cost and delivery requirements, and create parts lists used for the procurement, manufacturing and installation of equipment.
  • Consult with engineers to discuss and interpret design concepts, and determine requirements of detailed drawings.
  • Understand manufacturing and installation processes and what is required on detail and assembly drawings to accomplish them.
  • Read and understand schematics and drawings of electrical systems.
  • Maintain parts database and drawing libraries.
  • Review work performed by his or her peers for correctness.

Requirements for the Mechanical Designer:

  • Associate’s degree (two-year college or technical school).
  • Computer Skills including Autodesk Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk Inventor, Infor, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing, Welding Practices and Symbols and Hydraulic Circuits and Symbols
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements.
