Process Mechanical Engineer (EntryLevel) Greenville, South Carolina

As a member of the Garver Water Design Center (WDC) in Greenville, SC., you will be focused on Process Mechanical Design and responsible for taking projects from conceptual planning to bid ready documents under the direction of Senior Process Mechanical Engineers. The projects may include facility and equipment layouts, design calculations, equipment vendor coordination, management and coordination of support discipline activities, and coordination with regional offices and regulatory agencies as well as performing quality reviews of other teams’ designs.

  • Design of water and wastewater treatment processes
  • Support of water and wastewater process evaluation, selection, and implementation
  • Pump selection and pump station design
  • Chemical storage and feed system design
  • Blower sizing and blower system design
  • Mechanical equipment selection
  • Piping and instrumentation drawing production
  • Specification and Contract document preparation
  • Support of construction projects
  • Overseeing the development of construction drawings, and 3D models
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural or related engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
Preferred Attributes:
  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural or related engineering discipline
  • Similar project design experience with an engineering consulting firm
  • Registered as an Engineer Intern Training (EIT) or ability to obtain an EIT within 6 months of hire
  • Design experience of lift stations, booster pump stations, chemical feed, and water/wastewater treatment.
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of civil, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and control disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills as required to collaborate project designs with multi-discipline project teams
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations.

The Greenville Water Design Center will be a knowledge-based hub that excels in highly technical, multi-discipline water and wastewater designs for clients in Garver’s eastern footprint, as well as across the country as necessary.
