Job description

A-1 Rentals, a locally owned, general equipment and tool rental company is looking for an Experienced Mechanic to repair and maintain our rental equipment fleet to ensure the equipment stays in the best possible condition. The Mechanic will repair and maintain engines and equipment requiring mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic repair and perform preventive maintenance services. 

A-1 Rentals services homeowners and contractors with equipment for all types of projects ranging from lawn care to major construction jobs.  Regardless of the size of the project, from a small remodel to a major building site, A-1 Rentals provides dependable and reliable equipment.

We take pride in providing the best rental experience. In this position, you will be an important team member of the team. The ideal candidate is interested in long term career growth. A-1 Rentals offers a fun work environment that encourages individual development and rewards performance.

As a Mechanic, the key duties include:

  • Repair and maintain all rental equipment.
  • Check equipment for safe operating features.
  • Maintain and perform scheduled equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarize and train employees and customers on equipment.
  • Other duties as needed.

What the successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years’ experience repairing and maintaining various equipment and tools.
  • Must take Stihl classes in order to become certified as our Stihl mechanic to repair and maintain rental equipment and outside customer repairs.
  • For insurance reasons, must be 21 with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Must own your own tools.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
