Job description

The Erosion Company (TEC) is currently hiring a Mechanic for our Cartersville, GA, location. The successful candidate will maintain diesel truck and equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
TEC is the largest and most experienced erosion control contractor in the Southeast, and we are currently growing. TEC offers comprehensive erosion control, specialty materials, forestry, and other site clean-up/control services to a wide variety of clients.
Responsibilities as a Mechanic:
  • Run diagnostic tests on vehicles and equipment.
  • Analyze diagnostic test results.
  • Understand basic diesel engine mechanics.
  • Repair vehicle and equipment engines, fuel systems, suspension and steering mechanisms, electrical, and braking systems.
  • Check vehicle lighting systems.
  • Test drive vehicles to gauge performance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance service.
  • Utilize maintenance software package to ensure work orders are updated and service records are tracked.
  • Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist.
  • Maintain parts inventory.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the shop.

Required Qualifications:
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Aptitude for mathematics and science.
  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
  • Understanding of basic hydraulic systems.
  • Good IT and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess a valid DL license
