Description Now Hiring - Mechanic I or Mechanic II (Depending on Qualifications and Experience - See Mechanic I Listing) Park City Fire District is seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic to join our Fleet Division. Under the direction of the Fleet & Facilities Manager, this position performs maintenance and repair work on fire apparatus, emergency response vehicles, and district fleet vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a desire to support critical emergency operations.

Examples of Duties Review, assess, and prioritize mechanical issues and repair orders. Coordinate annual safety compliance for district fleet. Independently perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.

Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, pumps, hydraulics, electrical systems, steering and suspension components, transmissions, braking systems, and HVAC systems. Perform welding and fabrication as needed. Safely operate vehicles exceeding 10,000 lbs.

Maintain organized workspaces, order parts, and ensure accurate fleet data entry. Analyze maintenance records for accuracy and performance trends. Work safely in both shop and field settings and comply with all PCFD policies.

Typical Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be at least 21 years old. Completion of a 2-year vocational mechanic program or at least three (3) years of professional mechanic experience.

No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history within seven years. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Ability to read and write English

Good moral character, industrious work ethic, and strong communication skills. Class A or Class B CDL license, or ability to obtain within six months. Qualified Inspector for the Utah Vehicle Inspection Program or must obtain within one year of employment.

ASE and EVT certifications preferred and required to be completed within the first year, including: - T-2 Heavy Duty Truck (Diesel Engines) - T-3 Heavy Duty Truck (Drivetrain) - T-6 Heavy Duty Truck (Electrical Systems) - A-9 Automotive (Diesel Engines) - F-3 Fire Pumps and Accessories - F-4 Electrical Systems - E-2 Ambulance Electrical Systems - E-3 Ambulance HVAC Systems Physical & Environmental Conditions Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and move up to 175 lbs. Physical ability to crawl, kneel, stoop, climb, and work in awkward positions. Work performed in varying weather, around mechanical hazards, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
