We are seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic Manager to oversee all shop operations, equipment maintenance, and fleet reliability while leading a team of mechanics in a fast-paced, growing environment. This is an opportunity to play a critical leadership role by ensuring our equipment, vehicles, and machinery are safe, reliable, and ready to perform every day.

We offer an annual salary of $70,000-$85,000 (based on experience), retirement/401K plan, major holidays, paid time off, and a positive and collaborative work environment.

Shop Mechanic Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead shop operations while fostering a positive, accountable culture while offering top customer service to the team of associates who serve our customers.
  • Maintenance and repair of small engines (required).
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs for fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery.
  • Schedule, prioritize, and manage repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and improve maintenance procedures and shop efficiencies.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, expenses, inventory, and equipment replacement needs.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become costly problems.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, repair documentation, and daily progress reports.
  • Partner with company leadership to support operational goals and long-term planning.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and evaluate shop personnel.
  • Champion workplace safety by ensuring compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.

Shop Mechanic Manager Requirements:

  • 6+ years of mechanic experience working with trucks, equipment, or heavy machinery.
  • 4+ years of leadership or shop management experience.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and repair scheduling.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using technology and maintenance software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents; Aspire CRM experience preferred.
  • A proactive leader with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality.
