Job description

TICO is an equipment logistics solutions company that has been in business since 1946. While based out of Savannah, TICO has locations throughout the coast and interior United States. TICO owns and operates over 1500 Jockey Trucks/Terminal Tractors and 800 Plus Specialty Trailers.
SUMMARY
Utilize pressure washing equipment and a scrub brush to clean the exterior of TICO terminal tractors as needed to provide first-class clean tractors for our customers. Report repairs and/or maintenance requirements to shop personnel for follow-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Clean interior/exterior of units.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment needed to conduct cleaning.
  • Notify management of any potential unsafe equipment, conditions or truck issues.
  • Comply with Company/agency policy/procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, well organized, and clean workspace.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment during the performance of job duties.
  • Assist shop personnel with minor repair and maintenance of yard tractors.
  • Perform basic maintenance such as tire pressure, check fluids, replace marker lights.
  • Assist shop personnel with shop and yard clean-up functions.
  • Occasional use of forklift. (We will train).
  • Occasionally deliver/pick up parts from the other sites.
  • Other duties may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND USE OF TOOLS
Tractor truck washers work with electric/gas-powered pressure washers daily. They frequently handle a variety of other tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, impacts and forklift trucks.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current/valid driverโ€™s license, TWIC Card (TICO can assist with TWIC Card providing you pass the background check).
One-year Mechanical Maintenance experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The Truck Washer must hold the wash wand with both arms extended at head height while washing the equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 50 pounds. Climbing steps up to 24 inches high into and down from trucks is required and performed up to 30 or more times daily. Brisk walking from vehicles for up to 5 hours per day is usual. Employees frequently work with dirty equipment and parts and may occasionally stand or squat in awkward positions. The ability to talk and hear is required.
