Responsibilities:

- Receive and complete grocery orders from customers.

- Package, prepare, weigh, and price fresh meats according to demand.

- Participate in store opening and closing routines according to established procedure.

- Stock shelves with dry goods, and apply price stickers.

- Arrange merchandise in a manner that maximizes customer appeal.

- Assist in unloading merchandise and delivering to the shop floor.

- Arrive early enough to ensure you and your work station are properly equipped with all the tools, supplies, and materials necessary to complete your shift.

- Maintain high standards of sanitation for your work station and tools, including a comprehensive, end of shift cleaning.

- Carve and/or cut meat to customers direction in a professional and efficient manner

- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience

- Assist with food preparation and other duties as needed

- Follow all food safety guidelines and regulations

- Work collaboratively and constructively with all other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Preferred Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a deli slicer - both manual and automatic, and band saw, or the willingness and ability to learn how.

- Willingness to obtain a City of Philadelphia Food Safety Handler Certification. Company assistance will be provided for this.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred

- Knowledge of basic math for portioning and pricing meat

- Operate a mechanical cash register.

- Mentally perform quick subtraction out to 2 decimal points with precise accuracy.

- Operate Credit Card processing terminals.

- Cellphone is to be off while on shift and wait until break to check it.

- Meal, snack or drink consumption must wait until break, and can not be done in designated food service or preparation areas. Water in a covered container, stored physically below preparation areas is permitted. This is a Department of Health Food Safety requirement.

- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects.
