JOB SUMMARY:
The Meat Clerk's role is to assist and support the Meat Department -- by providing a high level of customer service and practice safe food handling procedures and performs a variety of tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Will have stocking and merchandising responsibilities in both the fresh and frozen cases.
  • Update Product pricing as necessary.
  • Ensures product's quality, protections, accuracy, and proper rotation in coolers.
  • Rewrap meat packages as needed.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Ensures great customer experience.
  • Maintains pork rind rack clean and organized.
  • Keeps meat displays clean and presentable.
  • Store cleaning supplies properly.
  • Advertising department products.
  • 5:00 am start time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 1+ years meat department experience

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools or controls.

  • The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Walk and work in Freezer and Refrigerator Cooler as needed throughout the day.
