Now Hiring: Sales Associate

Krehbiel’s Specialty Meats is looking for a friendly and hardworking Sales Associate to join our team! If you enjoy working with customers, keeping things organized, and being part of a fast-paced retail environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting customers by determining their needs, answering questions, and recommending the right products.
  • Processing sales transactions using our Point of Sale system and answering phone inquiries.
  • Receiving and stocking inventory, which includes occasional lifting of boxes up to 50 lbs. and brief periods in walk-in freezers.
  • Keeping store shelves, coolers, and freezers well-stocked.
  • Building meat bundles and communicating with team members about product levels.
  • Maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment, including mopping floors, dusting shelves, and cleaning the bathroom.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage these tasks efficiently while providing excellent customer service with a friendly attitude.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Wage determined by experience.

Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Associate plays a vital role in delivering a superior customer experience by assisting shoppers, maintaining a clean and well-stocked store, and promoting our premium meat products. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain product knowledge of all items in the store, especially specialty meats like wagyu, dry-aged steaks, and artisan sausages.
  • Proactively suggest and upsell products based on customer needs and current promotions.
  • Ensure store displays, coolers, and shelves are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Perform daily walkthroughs as part of a rotating team to ensure store readiness and cleanliness.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating inventory.
  • Answer customer questions about products, orders, and store policies or direct them to the appropriate team member.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash/credit transactions accurately.
  • Support store events and promotions, such as food truck days and product launches.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and management, offering feedback or reporting concerns as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in food, meat, or grocery retail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Comfortable with multitasking and handling high customer volume.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, product presentation, and customer experience.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 40 lbs), and perform tasks in a cold environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a growing, dynamic retail space.

Schedule and Expectations:
  • Must be available for weekends and holiday shifts.
  • Participate in the rotating daily store walkthrough checklist with peers.
  • Flexibility to assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as the store grows and evolves.
