MDK is seeking a Senior Paralegal to help protect our clients’ interests in residential foreclosure matters—combining precision, business insight, and legal strategy to ensure every claim is filed with care and confidence.   

In this role, you will provide support to a team of legal professionals, handle specialized legal document preparation, hourly billing, and contested hearing matters, coordinate communication between clients and courts to keep cases progressing in a timely manner, and assist attorneys with resolving unusual or complex matters.

Your Role in Action 

  • Review case management system and assume responsibility for tasks within scope of responsibility and skills. Ensure cases are progressing in a timely manner. 
  • Prepare, process and review specialized pleadings. 
  • Communicate on contested and litigated matters with clients, opening appropriate sub-processes and requesting billing accordingly.  
  • Prepare responses within scope of knowledge and authority for the attorney. 
  • Handle hearing preparation including scheduling, communicating with clients, obtaining and reviewing results, and continuing or cancelling hearings in compliance with court orders. 
  • Receive phone calls and ensure timely and accurate communication with a variety of callers including defendants, judges, court staff and clients.  
  • Update client systems as tasks are processed. 
  • Assist with training of new team members as needed. 
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MDK culture and work to be a successful contributor and supporter of MDK’s mission and values, including MDK initiatives. 
  • Support team in meeting firm expectations and goals.

Your Background & Skills 

  • Requires a high school diploma. Associate’s degree and/or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. 
  • Notary Public strongly preferred. 
  • Requires four or more years of work experience within a legal environment.  
  • Previous experience in residential foreclosure preferred.  
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products.
