Inova Neurology is looking for a dedicated Neurologist (Sleep subspecialty) to join the team at our Alexandria outpatient Neurology clinic. Subspecialty certification and experience in Sleep Medicine is preferred. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Neurologist/Sleep Medicine Neurologist (MD/DO) Job Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations, including initial assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients' conditions 

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders through evidence-based medical practices 

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs 

  • Prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostic tests and procedures 

  • Coordinate and authorize specialty referrals and ancillary services as needed 

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through case conferences and care coordination efforts 

  • Maintain effective consultative relationships with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation staff, and other healthcare professionals 

  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and studies to advance neurological care 

  • Contribute to preventive health programs, including screenings, immunizations, and community outreach efforts 

  • Provide clinical education and mentorship to medical students, residents, and other trainees 

  • Deliver in-service training and educational sessions for clinical staff 

  • Perform additional duties as assigned 

Neurologist/Sleep Medicine Neurologist (MD/DO) Minimum Requirements: 

  • Work Schedule: Full time, 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution 

  • Certification: Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology required, certification in Sleep Medicine strongly preferred

  • Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia (required upon start)

  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor

  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in Sleep Medicine

  • Certified in Sleep Medicine
