Job description

Hearth & Home Technologies is looking for a Human Resource Business Partner to join our team in Lakeville, MN. We are the nation’s leading manufacturer and supplier of hearth products, including a wide variety of gas, electric, wood and pellet burning fireplaces, inserts, stoves, and accessories. Headquartered in Lakeville, Minnesota, with distribution around the world, our innovative culture is supported by a business unit structure that allows us to develop and market products with a strong focus on customers’ needs. Since 1996, we’ve been dedicated to connecting people through the warmth and comfort of our hearth products.

This hybrid position is located onsite in our Lakeville, MN headquarters working 4 days a week in the office and 1 day remote. 

Reporting to the Human Resources (HR) Director and in conjunction with the Business Unit Senior Leadership, the HR Business Partner provides overall HR support for designated clients in the sales and corporate functions within the Fireplace business unit including communication and implementation of a clear vision in support of business unit’s strategic objectives.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Within designated client groups, supports a forward-thinking strategy that diagnoses business unit’s needs, connects, and deploys team capabilities, and collaborates with customer groups on operational strategies to improve business performance through people
  • Demonstrates a solid knowledge of the business and delivery of services to internal client groups to drive outstanding performance
  • Collaboratively solves challenges, generating innovative ways to resolve business problems with talent solutions
  • Partners with HR Director and COEs (Centers of Excellence) regarding business priorities in support of the design and execution of enterprise solutions and business strategies
  • Execute core HR processes, including talent acquisition, compensation, and employee lifecycle support
  • Manages the operations and execution of enterprise processes, including performance management, talent management, succession, compensation, coaching and talent reviews, member engagement, etc.
  • Partners with leadership to drive people processes to ensure that employee capabilities meet current and future business needs and to attract and retain talent to support these needs. Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Serves as the primary HR contact for the assigned client group including transactional HR requests, leveraging the expertise of internal teams
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations by conducting thorough and objective investigations
  • Ensures project work runs smoothly and stays on track by proactively managing tasks and clearly setting expectations with clients and MCR leadership for on-time delivery
 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field with 5+ years of HR experience or 8-10 years of combined education and HR work experience
  • Working knowledge of core HR disciplines (compensation, organizational diagnosis, employee, diversity, performance management)
  • Solid background interpreting policies related to FMLA, employment law, and government compliance regulations to provide guidance to clients
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrates advanced Excel proficiency by performing complex analysis, managing data, automating processes, building clear reports and visualizations 
  • Understanding of HR metrics and their impact on overall business 
  • Ability to research and use judgment to resolve problems objectively 
  • Ability to coach employees and leaders through complex situations 
  • Ability to influence others and champion unpopular ideas independently 
  
Preferred Experience 
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
