Position: Human Resources Manager

Location: Lebanon, IN

Reports to: Corporate HR Director



McKinley Paper and Packaging Company is a subsidiary of Bio Pappel, one of the largest producer of sustainable paper products in Mexico and Latin America. Our dedication to sustainability is evident through significant investments in cutting-edge technology, exemplified by URBAN FOREST, our largest-scale paper recycling initiative.


This is a key leadership position responsible for driving and shaping the people strategy within a manufacturing facility undergoing an operational turnaround. As a trusted business partner, the Human Resources Manager will work closely with plant leadership to build a high-performing culture, foster a safe work environment, strengthen employee engagement, develop talent, support operational excellence.


This is an individual contributor role that reports directly to the Corporate Human Resources Director in Dallas, Texas, while serving as a strategic member of the Lebanon plant leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to plant leadership by aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with employees at all levels through a visible and consistent presence on the production floor.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning for salaried and hourly manufacturing positions.
  • Lead employee relations efforts by providing guidance, coaching, conflict resolution, and conducting workplace investigations when necessary.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives that foster a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Partner with leaders to support performance management, coaching, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning for salaried and hourly manufacturing positions.
  • Coach managers on employee performance, accountability, and leadership development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Utilize HR technology and HRIS platforms to improve processes, analyze workforce data, and support informed decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI tools, to improve HR efficiency and enhance the employee experience.
  • Manage payroll, timekeeping, benefits administration, and employee records while maintaining data accuracy (Paycom)
  • Plan and execute employee recognition, engagement, and retention programs.
  • Lead HR projects and initiatives that support organizational growth and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to plant leadership and corporate teams regarding HR initiatives, workforce metrics, and organizational priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience serving as the senior HR leader for a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, talent development, performance management, retention strategies, and employment law.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with operations leaders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred).
  • Strong technology aptitude with the ability to leverage HRIS, data analytics, and AI tools to improve HR processes and decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
