Job description

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve - we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow's health today, we want to hear from you.

Manager, Data Analytics

We're looking for someone who can sit between the business and the technical side and thrive in both. Our Generics organization is going through a period of significant change: we're modernizing legacy automations, migrating to new platforms, and building out self-service analytics that help teams across pricing, finance, and manufacturer relations make better decisions. This role will be at the center of that work.

Half the job is understanding how the business operates. You'll spend real time with stakeholders learning their workflows, identifying what's broken or manual, and translating what you hear into clear requirements. The other half is building: writing Python, creating dashboards, designing automations, and delivering solutions that actually get adopted. If you're the kind of person who can run a requirements session in the morning and write production code in the afternoon, this is your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with business and operational teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and priorities, then translate those into analytics and automation solutions
  • Build and maintain dashboards and self-service reporting that help stakeholders monitor performance and make decisions without waiting on your team
  • Write production Python to automate manual processes, build data pipelines, and replace legacy bots with scalable, modern solutions
  • Support major platform migrations by identifying what's impacted downstream and updating dashboards, data products, and workflows accordingly
  • Help shape our AI strategy by identifying where AI and machine learning can add real value, and partnering with engineering to make it happen

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Education

Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field

Critical Skills

  • 7+ years in analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills, both directions: you can extract requirements from business teams who don't speak technical, and you can explain your solutions to people who don't write code
  • Skilled in SQL with hands-on experience building dashboards in at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker)
  • Strong Python skills, not just scripting, but writing clean, maintainable code for ETL, API integrations, and automation
  • Skilled in working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, or similar), not just familiarity but hands-on delivery experience
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and BI best practices
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and where they practically apply to reporting and business workflows

Additional Skills

  • Experience replacing or modernizing RPA automations
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and where they practically apply to reporting and business workflows
  • Background in healthcare, pharma, or distribution

This role is a hybrid position. The selected candidate is expected to work on-site at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific in-office days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.
